Stained Glass
Stained glass is glass that has been coloured by adding metallic salts during its manufacture, and usually then further decorated in various ways. The coloured glass is crafted into stained glass windows in which small pieces of glass are arranged to form patterns or pictures, held together by strips of lead, called cames or calms, and supported by a rigid frame.
The use of stained glass has centuries long history, and it’s still being used today because of its unique and artistic properties, creating illuminated decorations. Each piece is customised and hand crafted to suit your personal style and preference, making it a distinctive addition to your space.
As well as new work, Preedy Glass also offer restoration services to existing installations. This covers general restoration of aged panels, vandalism repair, and preventative works such as the installation of glass or polycarbonate protective screens.

External Doors and Windows
Stained glass provides a unique and artistic alternative to your home. It also bookmarks the era the property was built. Although traditionally single glazed, it is possible to install a stained glass window inside a double glazed unit, still maintaining the beauty and character of the window, but additionally further reducing any heat loss.
Internal Walls and Screens
The use of stained glass is not limited to traditional places like external doors and windows. Modern stained glass designs can be used within your home with room dividers and internal doors being especially popular.
Ecclesiastical Designs
Preedy Glass started manufacturing stained glass windows in 1913, and have supplied and installed them in many churches all over the country.
